This qualification is made up of two units including Emergency First Aid at Work.

It is specifically designed for those who are involved in any form of activity, including sports, leisure and recreation.

Not only is Basic Life Support included, but many other First Aid conditions are also covered, making this qualification very comprehensive.


A minimum of 12 contact hours in the classroom, consisting of practical and theoretical activities, plus an assignment and some pre-course activity could be required.


A range of subjects is covered including:

  • Responsibilities and reporting
  • Assessment of    the situation
  • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
  • Basic hygiene in First Aid
  • Fractures
  • Angina and heart attack
  • Electrical injuries
  • Heat and cold
  • Resuscitation
  • Heart attacks
  • Minor injuries
  • Bleeding control
  • Head injuries
  • Diabetes
  • Spinal injuries
  • Drowning injuries
  • Angina
  • Choking
  • Shock
  • Asthma
  • Burns


Assessment is on going by the instructor along with a multiple choice question paper, and a three year qualification will be issued to the learner, subject to assessment.


A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course. 

Age limit

Students must be a minimum of 14 years of age and a certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment. The Unit 1 Award for successful completion of the Day One course is equivalent to the one-day

Level 2 (Level 5 in Scotland) Emergency First Aid at Work qualification. However, a student cannot claim the official title of ‘Emergency First Aider in the Workplace’ until they reach the age of 16, and then it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that the student is suitable for that role. The certificate will expire as dated on the certificate, irrespective of age.


We are able to deliver this course on your site, subject to a pre-course assessment of your premises, reducing your costs in respect of additional time out and travelling however, we have several locations throughout the UK where we can also undertake this course.
